- Advertising ban and promotion limits (below)
Open or covert advertising of health services is banned; promotion and information are allowed only with the information listed in the regulation. Listing with search engines is permitted only when it is neither paid nor sponsored and is not intended to make the provider stand out. So we don’t offer ranking or promotion services to healthcare providers; we audit the accuracy of information in AI answers, check the site against the rules and help structure information content prepared by authorised health professionals.
What does the regulation say about websites and search engines?
| Rule | Article | What it means on the site and in AI answers |
|---|---|---|
| The information that may be shared is listed: address and contact, working days and hours, specialties accepting patients, professionals’ titles, and health-protecting and health-promoting information | art. 4/1-ğ | These facts are the subject of the accuracy work |
| No advertising-type posts based on patients’ or relatives’ thanks or satisfaction | art. 5/1-e | No content or pages that showcase reviews |
| Search engine listings are allowed only when neither paid nor sponsored and not intended to stand out; keywords and the details on result pages must respect the principles | art. 5/1-i | No ranking-oriented work |
| No fee, discount, campaign or promotion information | art. 5/1-m | No price or campaign content |
| No statements about methods not proven scientifically and clinically | art. 5/1-ç | Content covers only established, regulated methods |
| Websites must clearly show the last update date of the information and contact details for the editor | art. 5/1-ı | Every page carries a date and editor details |
The regulation covers health professionals, private healthcare institutions and international health-tourism intermediaries. Information about health services may be given only by authorised health professionals, and those who post content in breach of the rules and those who share it are held equally responsible[1].
What do we do within these limits?
- Accuracy audit: Questions of the kind patients ask are put to AI engines; the address, hours, department and title information in the answers is checked one by one.
- Fixing the source: We find where wrong information comes from (an old directory listing, an outdated map profile, the page of a closed branch) and correct it at the source.
- Consistency: The site, map profiles and health directory listings show the permitted information in the same way.
- Structure of information content: We help publish health-protecting content written by your physicians in a readable, dated form with visible editor details; we don’t write the medical text.
- Compliance check: Statements, images and page titles on the site are reviewed against the regulation’s principles; risky wording is reported.
Which requests do we decline?
- Promises of standing out or ranking higher in search engines or AI answers.
- Content that showcases patient reviews, thank-you messages or before-and-after stories for promotion.
- Copy with prices, discounts, campaigns, draws or gifts.
- Content that steers patients to a specific physician or provider.
How does the accuracy work proceed?
- SCAN
Patient question set
Questions about address, hours, departments and physicians’ titles; a list of wrong and missing facts in answers.
- BUILD
One correct record
Site, map profiles and directory listings aligned with the information the regulation permits.
- WRITE
Physician-approved structure
Information content written by authorised professionals, published with date, editor and source details.
- MEASURE
Error rate
The same questions are asked again every month; what we measure is not ranking but the decline of wrong information in answers.
Frequently asked questions
01Can we show patient reviews on our website?
The regulation bans advertising-type posts on websites based on patients’ or relatives’ thanks and satisfaction. So we don’t prepare pages or content that showcase reviews for promotion; we recommend asking your legal adviser about your specific case.
02Can we publish our price list?
The regulation doesn’t allow fee, discount, campaign or promotion information in promotion and information activities. We don’t prepare pages or copy that include prices.
03We are a health-tourism intermediary. Does this file cover us?
Yes, the regulation also covers international health-tourism intermediaries. Because of additional health-tourism rules and foreign-language needs, we plan this work by custom quote.
