What does the check measure?
| Group | Checks | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Access | HTTPS, 200 response, robots.txt access for search/citation bots (OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Claude-SearchBot, Bingbot, Googlebot), noindex/nosnippet | 30 |
| Readability | Text readable without JavaScript, title, meta description, single H1, lang and canonical | 30 |
| Structure | JSON-LD present and parseable, Organization/LocalBusiness entity, Q&A markup, sameAs | 25 |
| AI signals | llms.txt, sitemap, date/freshness signal | 15 |
What doesn’t it measure?
- Whether your brand is actually named in AI answers — that needs engine-level measurement (Neural Visibility Audit).
- The quality and accuracy of your content.
- Your mentions in third-party sources, or your competitors.
- The whole site; the check reads one page plus site-wide files.
A high score means the door is open; who gets invited in is a matter of content and authority. Concepts: AI crawlers, schema, llms.txt.
Frequently asked questions
01How do I know if my site is ready for AI?
Look at three basics: are search/citation bots blocked in robots.txt, is page content readable without running JavaScript, and is your organization defined with structured data? The GEO Readiness Check tests these and a few extra signals in seconds.
02Does the check store the address I enter?
No. The address is used only to run the check and isn’t saved. A short-lived, in-memory request limit prevents abuse.
03Does a score of 100 mean I’ll appear in ChatGPT?
No. A high score shows engines can reach and understand your page; being named depends on content quality, entity consistency and third-party sources.
