GEO for hotels and travel: helping AI describe your property accurately when guests ask

Someone planning a holiday can ask an AI, in their own language, for “a quiet hotel near the sea for a family with kids” or “an agency in Cappadocia that also books the balloon ride”. The answer is pieced together from the property’s own site, map profiles, booking sites and travel writing. This file covers what we do so your property appears in that answer, complete and correct.

✳ Short answer

GEO for hotels and travel is the work of getting your property or agency named with accurate facts in guests’ location, amenity, condition and experience questions. Property facts are published at a separate URL for each language and kept equally current, map and booking profiles are aligned with your site, promotion sticks to the name, type and class on your tourism certificate, and measurement happens in the guest’s language.

What do guests ask AI?

Accommodation questions are short but full of conditions. We build the question set around those conditions:

Question typeExampleWhat the answer relies on
Location“A quiet hotel less than half an hour from the airport?”Address, distances, transport
Amenity“A boutique hotel that accepts pets?”Amenity list and house rules
Experience“An agency that also arranges the Ephesus trip?”Tour programme, agency details
Condition“A room with free cancellation and breakfast included?”Cancellation and price terms

How should pages be set up for international guests?

  • Rather than switching the content language with cookies or browser settings, Google recommends a different URL for each language version, marked up with hreflang[3].
  • Google decides a page’s language from the text people read, not from the lang value in the HTML, so each page keeps its copy and navigation in one language[3].
  • Instead of forcing guests to another version based on their browser language, we let them choose[3].
  • Amenities, room types and rules are updated on the same day in every language. If a pool removed in one language still appears in another, the answers contradict each other too.

Which sources do we check?

SourceWhy it mattersOur work
The property’s own siteThe primary source for amenities, rules and termsServer-rendered text, current pages in every language; markup with the most specific business type, such as Hotel[5]
Map and business profilesAddress, phone, photos, opening hoursName, type and contact details identical to the site
Booking and rate linksCurrent prices and availabilityAssessing Google’s free booking links[4]
Travel writing and guidesExperience and destination coverageAccurate, current facts about the property

With Google’s free booking links, a hotel or booking site can appear in hotel searches with its name and the room rate for the selected dates, and clicks on these links cost nothing[4].

Which promotion rules are binding in Türkiye?

Article 16 of the Regulation on the Qualifications of Tourism Facilities ties a certified property’s promotion to its certificate: promotion uses the name and type on the tourism certificate, may not be misleading, may not use star-like symbols that suggest a class other than the certified one, and the property name may not include terms for units the property doesn’t have[1].

For travel agencies, Article 17 of the Travel Agencies Regulation requires the licence number and agency name to appear on the landing page of every online sales channel and at the foot of other pages. Sentences added in 2024 require agencies to verify, in the Ministry database, the certificate numbers of accommodation facilities and tourist-rental homes and to show them in their sales and marketing; uncertified facilities and homes may be neither marketed nor sold[2].

These rules also serve GEO. When the official name, type and certificate details are written the same way on your site, map profiles and booking sites, the sources engines compare end up confirming each other.

How does the Neural Visibility Loop work in travel?

  1. SCAN

A question set in guests’ languages

Location, amenity and experience questions in each target market’s language; which properties get named and which sites are cited.

  2. BUILD

    A consistent property identity

The certified name, type and class written identically on the site, map profiles and markup; language versions moved to separate URLs with hreflang.

  3. WRITE

    Pages that answer questions

Separate, current pages for frequent questions such as transport, amenities, families and accessibility; destination and experience guides.

  4. MEASURE

    Citation share per language

The same questions every month, in every target language, across 6 engines. Wrong facts — a closed property, a removed amenity, a wrong distance — are tracked on a separate list.

Frequently asked questions

01Most bookings come through large booking sites. Does our own site still matter?

Yes. Your site is the primary source for details such as amenities, rules and cancellation terms; information elsewhere can be incomplete or stale. When answers contradict each other, the current facts on your own site are what a correction rests on.

02Which languages do you measure in?

Turkish and English are standard. Languages such as German, French, Spanish and Arabic are added in the HÜKÜM (Verdict) plan or by custom quote, and each language is measured separately.

03How should we show our star rating on the site and profiles?

With the class on your tourism certificate, and without star-like symbols that suggest a different class[1]. If you’re unsure about a phrase, we check it against the regulation together.
